Nellore: Land acquisition for Dagadarthi greenfield airport completed

Nellore: District Collector K V N Chakradhar Babu said the land acquisition process for the Dagadarthi Greenfield Airport has almost been completed despite some pending court cases. Inspecting the site on Monday along with the officials, the Collector said the officials were focusing on the pending works.

The Collector enquired about the development of the airport works with the local revenue staff members. Speaking to media, Chakradhar Babu said that they had instructed revenue officials to take all measures for speedy completion of land acquisition in the mandal. He said once the airport was completed there would be chances for regional development.

He also said around 112 small and medium scale industries would likely to come up in APIIC industrial corridor in the district. "Measures will be taken to start small and medium scale industries close to the airport as they generate avenues to the local unemployed youth. We had already formed the District Level Skill Committee with officials from 14 departments for honing skills among the unemployed youth," said the Collector.

He said around 25,000 unemployed youth lost their jobs due to the Covid-19 situation and added they would get employment opportunities in the upcoming firms. The Collector also said they were going to start a toll-free number for providing information to the jobless on vacancies exist in the district.

The number would be displayed at all ward/village secretariats in the district and people can get information there. Chakradhar Babu said the district administration had already planned for setting up Skill Development Counselling Centres in all five revenue divisions. Kavali RDO G Srinivasulu and other officials were present.
