Need to protect environment stressed

Guntur: District Education Officer R S Ganga Bhavani stressed on the need to protect the environment. She felt that it is responsibility of everyone to protect the environment to maintain ecological balance. She addressed a meeting held in the Government Boys High School in old city in Guntur on Tuesday on the occasion of World Environment Day.

She further said that need to protect the planted saplings and explained steps taken by the government to plant the saplings. Government Degree Lecturer Challa Lakshmi Tulasi said, need to plants for environment and survival of future generations and urged the people stop using plastic. Later, they distributed prizes to the students topped in the essay and drawing competitions conducted on the occasion of World Environment Day.
