Narasaraopet: Call to check anaemia among students

Narasaraopet: District Collector Sivasankar Lotheti directed the officials to inspect the welfare hostels and government primary schools and high schools. He conducted a videoconference with Municipal Commissioners, RDOs and education department officials from the Collectorate in Narasaraopet on Friday.

He directed the officials to ensure that the petitions solved in Spandana programme will not be reopened. The special officers were instructed to visit every school and enquire about the quality of mid-day meals and also told to have lunch with the students. He questioned the officials whether KGBVs and ZPHS are getting fortified rice within the stipulated time or not.

The Collector directed the officials to visit one school in a week and take steps to solve the anaemia problem. He instructed them to conduct tests and distribute tablets to solve the anaemia problem. The officials were further told to conduct meeting with the parents and create awareness about anaemia.
