Naidu demands compensation to TDP cadres attacked by YSRCP activists
Nellore: TDP national president N Chandrababu demanded the state government to pay compensation to victims of political violence perpetrated by the ruling YSRCP. During his today visit, which concluded on Tuesday, Naidu analysed the party's debacle in the district, situation post-elections, attacks by YSRCP activists on TDP cadres apart from interacting with leaders, cadres and the victims. He met the leaders and cadres of Venkatagiri, Gudur and Sullurpet on Monday.
On Tuesday, he held reviews with leaders and consoled the victims of attacks. Naidu held legislators of Sarvepalli, Nellore rural and Kavali responsible for attacks on TDP leaders and workers, especially in their constituencies and criticised the inaction of the police.
He comforted the TNSF district secretary K Tirumala Naidu who was attacked by the ruling party leaders and also family members of TDP leader Vengaiah who died in Anantasagaram recently and announced a financial support of Rs.5 lakh to the family.
The former chief minister also enquired about the demolition of houses of former corporator Jaheera Begum and her friends in Venkateswarapuram. He questioned how ruling party leaders could demolish the houses of TDP leaders with the support of corporation officials whereas 57 other houses exist in the same colony. The TDP chief also announced financial aid of Rs.2 lakh to each to the families of those who lost their houses due to demolitions.
He said that basic nature of YSRCP chief Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy was attacking financial sources of the people. "YSRCP leaders have destroyed aqua ponds and the houses of TDP leaders in the district. Police have not provided impartial justice in the demolition process. Police officers and other association owe an explanation on this," he said.
