MLA Sridhar Reddy inspects Narayana, Sri Chaitanya institutions in Nellore
Nellore: Rural MLA K Sridhar Reddy paid a surprise visit to Sri Chaitanya and Narayana institutions on Tuesday and discussed with the officials on the current fees structure. He said officials will prepare a report on the fee being collected by these schools and colleges in the coming two weeks for a constructive action against them.
It may be recalled that head of the Narayana Institutions is former minister Dr P Narayana who had contested from Nellore city constituency in the recent elections and the ruling party leaders are now focusing on them along with Sri Chaitanya Institutions.
Sridhar Reddy along with officials visited the Narayana College and interacted with the staff members on the fee structure. He said they were collecting lakhs of rupees from the students who study intermediate sessions violating guidelines of the government. He also criticised that they were running institutions without proper permissions from the concerned departments and showing them as coaching centres.
He said there has been no action for many years even though they were running colleges without proper permissions. Officials collect comprehensive report on schools within 4-5 days and on colleges within a fortnight, he added.
The legislator said that they will take the issue to the notice of Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy for appropriate action against them, if necessary. Local leaders B Srinivas Yadav, YSRC city president T Venkateswara Rao and others were present.
