Man alleges police torture attempts suicide in Pathikonda

Kurnool: Unable to bear police torture, a man allegedly consumed pesticide at the Pathikonda station premises on Saturday. However, the alert cops immediately rushed him to Pathikonda government general hospital. The doctors after extending primary treatment referred him to Kurnool government general hospital for better treatment. The victim has been identified as Ramanjaneyulu.

According to information, one Krishnaiah, the younger brother of Ramanjaneyulu, a resident of RS Pendakal village has eloped with a minor girl of Edduladoddi village. The girl's family members have lodged a complaint with Pathikonda police station in this regard.

As part of investigation, the cops have called Ramanjaneyulu and his family members for interrogation for two days. Unable to bear the police torture during investigation, Ramanjaneyulu reportedly consumed pesticide on the station premises and fell unconscious on the ground.

Speaking to media, Pathikonda Circle Inspector Adi Narayana Reddy said that the family members were called to the station as part of investigation and to know the whereabouts of the eloped couple.

In the meantime, Ramanjaneyulu has gone to have breakfast. After breakfast, he consumed Super Vasmol oil and fell on the ground at the hotel. The cops immediately rushed him to hospital for treatment, stated the CI.

We have filed a missing case based on the complaint lodged by the girl's parents, said the CI. Even we have filed a case on Ramanjaneyulu for attempt to commit suicide under section, 309 IPC and both cases are under investigation, added the CI.
