Lokesh promises to address all woes of trade bodies
Visakhapatnam: TDP national general secretary Nara Lokesh assured the trade and industry bodies that the TDP government would address all their problems after coming into the power. As model code of conduct in force, Lokesh said that he had registered all the vital points raised by the trade and industry bodies and assured to attend their issues on priority basis to promote the industries in the region.
The Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry Federation (APCCIF) on Thursday organised an interactive session with Minister for IT Lokesh in the city. Over 300 people including from hospitality, industries, tourism, education and other trade bodies attended the programme and placed several suggestions to promote industries.
The representatives requested for an exclusive Managing Director post in APIIC for the development of MSME sector and other industries. They also requested for 24/7 road connectivity to Pedagantyada Industrial Estate.The hotel associations requested to maintain old norms for old hotels and implement new norms for new hotels including parking, fire-fighting and their star ratings.
From the education sector, the delegates requested for uniformity in curriculum from elementary to higher education in the state and urged to enhance reimbursement of fee from the government side to engineering colleges.The tourism operators requested for four-lane road from Visakhapatnam to Bhimunipatnam and on the road side recreational facilities under PPP mode.
Some representatives requested for skill development facilities for sectors including IT, Tourism, Hotel Industry and Logistics so that the companies can hire skilled labour and steps to mitigate unemployment problem in this region. APCCIF Chairman G Sambasiva Rao presided over the session. Vizag MP contestant M Sri Bharath was also present.
