People waiting in long queues to avail tax rebate of 5 per cent

Kakinada: BJP state executive member and Srikakulam district in-charge Pedireddy Ravi Kiran expressed concern over inadequate and insufficient arrangements for tax payers in Kakinada Municipal Corporation. The BJP leader on Thursday observed that though the KMC offered 5 per cent rebate on yearly property tax, water tax and other taxes, the servers at Mee Seva centres are not working for the past three days.

Besides this, those interested to pay at KMC office had to wait in long queues to pay their bills. This was because of insufficient staff and less number of counters to meet the rush, he alleged. He also said that because of this reason, aged people are facing a lot of inconvenience to stand in queues for hours together.

The BJP leader asked the KMC authorities to take adequate measures to retrieve burden on tax payers in the form of quick disposal by arranging additional counters with sufficient staff. He also asked the authorities to take measures for uninterrupted working of servers at Mee Seva Centers.
