Kurnool: Devotees throng Srisailam to mark Laksha Deepotsavam

Kurnool: As part of Karthika Masotasvams, the authorities of Srisailam temple organised Laksha Deepotsavams and Pushkarani Harati on Monday. Temple Executive Officer (EO) K S Rama Rao, in a press release, stated that Karthika Masotsavam has started from November 16 and will conclude on December 15.

Following the Covid norms, several programmes have been organised on the temple premises. Laksha Deepotsavams and Pushkarini Harati were the important events of all the programmes. During every Monday, (Karthika Somavaram) the Deepotsavam and Pushkarani Harati would be organised.

Rama Rao said the entire Pushkarini premises was organised with Deepotsavam. The Deeparadhana was a very important event in the Karthikamasam. According to the epics, in addition to Deeparadhana, Deepadarshanam was also regarded to be very auspicious, stated the EO. Pushkarani Harati was observed after following the rituals and traditions.

The utsava moorthis of Swamy Amma varu was taken to Pushkarini and offered special prayers. Later pushkarini haratis were given to Swamy Amma varu, added the EO. Later, Omkar Harati, Naga Harati, Trishul Harati, Nandi Harati, Simha Harati, Surya Harati Chandra Harati, Khumba Harati and Karpura Harati were also given on this occasion.

On the fourth Monday (Karthika Somavaram) of Karthika Masam, devotees in large numbers thronged the temple and light lamps in the temple premises.
