Kurnool: Central team lauds efforts of State in curbing Covid-19

Kurnool: The central team members, Dr Madhumitha Dubey, director of All India Institute of Hygiene and Public health and Professor Sanjay Kumar Sadhu Khan visited Kurnool on Sunday and convened a meeting on controlling of Coivd-19 cases with District Collector, G Veera Pandiyan and Superintendent of Police (SP) Fakkeerappa Kaginelli at Sunaina Auditorium.

Dr Madhumitha said that Andhra Pradesh is doing well in controlling the spread of Coivd-19 virus. She said on behalf of central government they are ready to give handhold to Andhra Pradesh and Kurnool district administration.

After pursuing the prevailing situation in the district, they would extend suggestions, she said.

Lauding the efforts of district administration, she said the officials are taking necessary initiatives to control the spread of Covid virus. But there is need to speed up testing, tracing, isolation and quarantine activities.

She advised the officials to take up the assistance of NGOs to trace out contacts.

She also underlined the need to increase the capacity building to face any unforeseen consequences in the future. She suggested the District administration to strengthen human resources in hospitals and establish adequate Quarantine and Covid care centres.

Professor Sanjay Kumar Sadhu Khan said that lockdown is not going to be in force all the time. At some point of time it has to be lifted.

So, the people have to prepare to live along with the virus. The state government and the district administration have taken adequate steps to control the rapid spread of covid-19 virus.

The District Collector G Veera Pandyian said with the support of the Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, the district administration has been working hard in implementing the directions given by the state government.
