Tirupati: Kendriya Vidyalaya students visit IISER under Jigyasa programme

Tirupati: Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Tirupati has welcomed students of Kendriya Vidyalaya–I as part of their CSIR Jigyasa programme.

About 40 students accompanied by four teachers has visited the campus as part of the programme.

Jigyasa is a student–scientist connect programme launched by the Central government to be implemented by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) in collaboration with the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS).

The programme apart from other objectives focus on connecting school students and scientists to extend student classroom learning with a well-planned research laboratory-based learning and will inculcate the inquisitiveness on one hand and scientific temper on the other.

The team from KVS visited research labs in the morning assisted by the technical assistants and in the afternoon, deans and faculty members have invited talks on some popular topics like science, IISERs for society, energy, health, space and smart materials. Prof G Ambika, Prof BJ Rao, faculty and academic staff of IISER participated in the programme.
