Karthika Somavaram celebrated with religious fervour in Visakhapatnam

Visakhapatnam: Siva temples across the city reverberated with Vedic chants and sounds of conch shells as elaborate rituals marked 'Karthika Somavaram' here on Monday.

'Abhishekam' with holy waters, ash, sachets of milk, turmeric solution and other assorted items were used to appease Lord Siva on the occasion.

Siva temples at Appikonda, Nakkavanipalem, MVP Colony, Seethammadhara and One Town Area witnessed a host of devotional activities in the wee hours of Monday.
