Kadapa : Over 1.37 lakh ryots get Rs 143.75 crore compensation

Kadapa : As many as 1,37,573 farmers who have lost crops due to Nivar cyclone got Rs 143.75 crore compensation in Kadapa district on Tuesday.

Also 2,98,082 farmers have secured Rs 64.32 crore under the third phase of Rythu Bharosa in the district.

Speaking the occasion, Mydukuru MLA S Raghurami Reddy said that farmers of the district were very happy as Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy credited amounts to their accounts towards compensation for the lossess they suffered due to Nivar cyclone.

The MLA said Jagan is the only Chief Minister in the entire country who has implemented various welfare schemes for improving the living standards of farmers. District Collector Ch Harikiran has said that a festive look prevailed in the district with the government distributing house site pattas to the beneficiaries and crediting the amounts into the accounts of farmers under the 3rd phase of Rythu Barosa scheme.

Farmers from the district who participated in a video-conference on the occasion shared their experiences with the Chief Minister and thanked him for his initiative in extending the financial help.
