Jagan to open houses in Nellore on March 22
Nellore: District Collector K V N Chakradhar Babu on Friday instructed the officials to coordinate and speed up efforts to complete the 16,000 houses by the time Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy participates in the inauguration ceremony of houses in the district on Ugadi on March 22.
Holding a review meeting with Joint Collector Ronanki Kurmanath at the New Zilla Parishad meeting hall in the city on Friday, he said that the housing programme should be given utmost priority.
He said there has been no progress in the construction of houses in the district as planned in the last two weeks. He explained that bricks, cement and other housing materials were available and the housing bills are being released every week.
Due to minor issues, he said the progress of construction of houses has been delayed and from now onwards, special attention is being paid to the next 15 days and all the houses should be completed as a priority.
He said the government set a target of 16,000 houses construction and they should be completed by March 22. So far, he said, 5,000 houses have been completed and the next 45 days were crucial to complete the remaining target.
Chakradhar Babu said that every Saturday should be observed as Housing Day and every officer should be present at Jagananna Layout on the day and work towards the progress of housing and asked to send a report to him by the evening on the progress of housing constructions.
