Improve literacy level in State: Sucharita to teachers

Home Minister Mekathoti Sucharita, Minister for Agriculture Marketing Mopidevi Venkata Ramana Rao, Government Chief Whip Ummareddy Venkateswaraulu, MLC K S Lakshamana Rao, A S Rama Krishna, MLAs Kilari Rosaiah and Mustafa participate in Teachers’ Day celebrations at Sri Venkateswara Vignana Mandiram in Guntur city on Thursday.

Guntur: Home Minister Mekathoti Sucharita said that Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy was trying to achieve cent percent literacy in the State. Addressing a meeting held at the Sri Venkateswara Vignan Mandiram in the city on Thursday on the occasion of Teachers' Day celebrations, she stressed on need to improve literacy rate in the state.

Stating mother was first guru to child, she added that teachers play an import role in moulding the students. Earlier, she paid tributes to the portrait of late President of India Dr Sarvepalli Radha Krishnan.

Minister for Agriculture Marketing Mopidevi Venkata Ramana Rao said that after announcement of Ammavodi Scheme, thousands of students joined the schools and added that the government was giving top priority to improve infrastructure in the schools.

Guntur-Krishna districts Graduates constituency MLC K S Lakshmana Rao urged the government to appoint teachers in Palnadu schools and assured his cooperation to the government in this regard.

Government chief whip Ummareddy Venkateswarulu reminded that late chief minister Y S Rajasekhar Reddy introduced fee reimbursement scheme for the benefit of poor.He said Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy government was also giving priority to education. MLC A S Rama Krishna, MLA Kilari Rosaiah,Mustafa and Collector I Samuel Anand Kumar were present.
