Chittoor: Implementing schemes despite funds shortage
Chittoor: Deputy Chief Minister K Narayana Swamy has participated in 'YSR Rythu Dinotsavam' programme at Gangadhara Nellore in Chittoor district on Monday.
The Rythu Dinotsavam was organised here to mark the birth anniversary of former Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy. Addressing the public meeting, Narayana Swamy stated that the YSRCP government is committed for the welfare of farmers.
The Minister mentioned that the State government had already launched several welfare schemes despite financial constraints. He slammed N Chandrababu Naidu for neglecting issues of farmers in his five-year rule. Even, the TDP chief failed to resolve the problems of farmers in his native Chittoor district, he stated. While stressing the importance of linking of rivers, Deputy Chief Minister assured people of diverting Krishna water to GD Nellore mandal via NTR Jalasayam to safeguard the interests of farmers.
Narayana Swamy reiterated the government's promise of digging borewells for the benefit of farmers. He gave a call to women to take active participation in the implementation of total liquor prohibition. Earlier, the Deputy Chief Minister visited the stalls set up by the government departments in an exhibition near public meeting venue and felicitated prosperous farmers. Narayana Swamy also cut a cake on the occasion.
District Collector N Bharat Gupta, RDO Mallikarjun, Joint Director of Agriculture Vijaya Kumar, YSRCP district general secretary Vijayananda Reddy and others were present.
