Hotel Novotel launches Japanese food festival
Vijayawada: Hotel Novotel on Thursday launched Teppanyaki, a Japanese food festival prepared by Chef Sudharshan from Hotel Movenpick from Colombo, for the first time in Vijayawada.
The chef Sudharshan said that the word Teppanyaki is derived from Teepan, which is the metal place on which it is cooked. Yaki means grilled, boiled and pan-fried, said chef Sudharshan. He said Teppanyaki grills are called Teppan and widely used to cook food in front of guests at the restaurants.
"This food festival will provide a plethora of traditional Japanese dishes and presented in a unique way. The unique selling proposition of the festival is the live preparations of Teppanyaki dishes on the metal place by Chef Sudharshan in front of the guests," said hotel's Director (Sales) Mohammad Akhil.
