Guntur reports 1,827 coronavirus cases

Coronavirus in Guntur: The district reported 157 fresh corona positive cases on Sunday taking the tally to 1,827. Of them, 54 cases registered in Guntur city and death toll remained at 19. So far, 745 patients were discharged from hospitals in the district. So far, 801 cases are registered in Guntur city.

Ponnur MLA Kilaru Rosaiah, YSRCP Guntur Municipal Corporation mayor candidate and Gurazala MLA Kasu Mahesh Reddy's car driver were also infected with Covid-19. A key official in the Woman and Child Welfare Department and 31 employees were tested positive for Covid-19.

Three doctors working in the Government General Hospital in Guntur city were tested positive for Covid-19. Similarly, two employees working in Zilla Parishad office were infected with Covid-19. A police officer working in Chilakaluripet and four members of his family were tested positive for virus. Ten ward volunteers in the city were infected with pathogen. People's representatives, political leaders are frequently going to Hyderabad for their business work. They are also spreading Covid-19 to others, according to sources.
