Guntur: JC Dinesh Kumar urges farmers to sell cotton at notified purchase centres
Guntur: Joint Collector AS Dinesh Kumar urged the cotton farmers to register their names at Rythu Bharosa Kendras and sell their cotton stock at their nearest ginning mill at Rs 5,825 per quintal.
He urged the cotton farmers not to sell their cotton stock only at the ginning mills and beware of the middlemen.
In a statement, he said the Cotton Corporation of India has set up cotton purchase centres at 34 ginning mills and 4 agriculture market yards in the district. He said within the purview of Guntur market yard, 8 centres were set up, one in Tadikonda, five in Chilakaluripet,one in Macherla, two in Pidiguralla, three in Phirangipuram and two in Gurazala.
He warned that if they notice mediators at notified ginning mill, they will book criminal cases against them and informed that a police constable was already posted at ginning mill to step up vigilance on the movement of mediators.
He said, if farmers have any problem, they call on the cell no: 91823-61261, assistant director, marketing or toll free no: 1907 to solve their problem.
