GST collections for February, 2020 Increases by 23 percent in Andhra Pradesh

The Government of India has released the details of GST collection for the month of February. The country has collected Rs. 1,05,366 crore as GST. Despite the 8 per cent growth compared to February last year, the collections did not meet the expected targets. However, the government which expected to raise Rs 1.25 lakh crore in February has collected Rs 1.05 lakh crore for the fourth consecutive month.

When it comes to Telugu states in GST collections, it is slightly lower in Telangana for the month of February compared to January. On the other hand, GST collections were a bit high in Andhra Pradesh. GST collection in Telangana for January 2020 is Rs. 3,787 crore while in February it is Rs 3,667 crore, which means a decrease of Rs.120 crore. When it comes to Andhra Pradesh, Rs. 2,356 crore GST collected in January 2020, which is now increased to Rs 2,536 crore in February resulting in an increase of Rs. 207 crore.

Telangana GST collection increased by 6 per cent in February this year compared to February 2019 while that of Andhra Pradesh GST collection increased by 23 per cent.

Overall, Maharashtra and Karnataka are ahead in the GST collections. Maharashtra's GST collection in February 2020 was Rs 15,735 crore, Karnataka - Rs 7,414 crore, Gujarat - Rs 7,216 crore, Tamil Nadu - Rs 6,427 crore, Uttar Pradesh - Rs. 5,776 crore, Haryana 5,266 crore, West Bengal - Rs. 3,942 crore, Delhi - Rs. 3,835 crore respectively. Telangana ranked 9th in the GST collections.
