Governor to attend JNTU-K convocation today

Kakinada: JNTU-K Vice-Chancellor Prof M Ramalinga Raju has said that the seventh convocation of JNTU-K will be held on August 17 from 10.30 am onwards at Alumni Auditorium of the university.

Disclosing the details of convocation to media, the VC said that B Prasada Rao, former chairman & managing director, BHEL, will be the chief guest. The chief guest will deliver the convocation address, he said and added the varsity will confer him with honorary doctorate in the presence of Governor and Chancellor Bishwa Bhushan Harichandan.

The Chancellor will confer the Ph D awards and distribute Gold Medals to students who passed out in 2017-18 academic year in the presence of the chief guest. Around 45,799 students of BTech, 1,191 B Pharmacy, 3,834 M Tech, 3,036 MBA, 439 MCA, 268 M Pharmacy, 61 BBA, 3 MSIT, 3 MS, 119 PhD, 29 Gold Medal bagged students for the academic year 2017-18 will be awarded with the degrees, VC said.
