Governor Biswabhushan Harichandan launches Crop Holiday book in Vijayawada

Andhra Pradesh Governor Biswabhushan Harichandan on Monday unveiled the book 'Crop Holiday' written by Dr. Yalamanchili Sivaji. Official Language Society President Yarlagadda Lakshmi Prasad and Tobacco Board Chairman Yadlapati Raghunath Babu were the chief guests. Speaking on the occasion, he said that India is an Agriculture based country and that the farmer is the backbone of the country. The Andhra Pradesh government has introduced a Raithu Bharosa scheme to help the farmers, and the farmers are happy to introduce the Kisan and PM Kisan Schemes.

Yarlagadda Lakshmi Prasad, president of the Official Language Society, said the crop holiday was a good thing for farmers. We are lucky to find a man like Shivaji. There have been many fights in parliament over farmers issues, and all parties have been united. The book makes it clear how tobacco farmers have been fooled by businessmen. He also explained how tobacco growers should get out of their problems and advised governments on farmer issues.
