Government schools to get infrastructure facilities in two years: Audimulapu Suresh
Vijayawada: Education Minster Audimulapu Suresh said that infrastructure facilities will be provided in all government schools in the state in two years as part of the efforts to strengthen education.
The minister addressed media conference at the Sub-Collectors office here on Thursday after holding meetings with the MLCs, senior officials of Educational department and representatives from Teachers' unions in the State. Suresh said the government had allocated 15.7 per cent of the total budget allocation amounting to Rs.33,000 crore to Education department in this financial year 2019-20.
He said the government will appoint regulating and monitoring committees for effective supervision of education system in the State. Referring to development of schools and infrastructure facilities, he said the department has already collected the photographs of the buildings of 44,000 government schools.
He said grievance portal will be inaugurated to address the problems of the teachers in 15 days after the complaints were registered in the portal. He further said career counselling portal with toll free phone number of 1800 425 2428 has been launched with the help of UNICEF for the convenience of students.
Giving details of promotions of the teachers, he said 10,224 posts of language pundits will be upgraded in the state. He said the education department has allocated Rs.152 crore for the payment of salaries to the sanitation workers and added that the efforts were on to fill the posts of Mandal Education Officers and Deputy Education officers in the State. Commissioner of School Education S Sandhyarani and other officials were present.
