Farmers burning copies of GO 99 which abrogated loan waiver

Eluru: Farmers, under the auspices of AP Rythu Sangham burnt copies of GO 99 which abrogates fourth and fifth phases of loan waiver for farmers under GO 38 issued by earlier government at a protest programme held here on Thursday. The farmers raised slogans to waive loans completely and release funds for the loan waiver.

Leading the protest, the Sangham state president Y Kesava Rao said that the repealing of GO 38 which enabled the farmers to avail loan waiver under fourth and fifth phases was unlawful. The farmers had suffered losses unable to get minimum price to the produce.

Floods also played havoc and they were deep down in debt trap. Contrary to coming to the rescue of the farmers, the government denying the loan waiver benefit was very unethical, he added. Farmers leaders K Srinivas, GV Krishna Rao, K Bhaskara Rao and others were present.
