Exams begin to fill 1.27 lakh village/ward secretariat posts

Vijayawada: Recruitment process began to fill 1,26,728 posts in 14,944 village and ward secretariats in the state on Sunday. On the first day, examination was conducted to fill 7,040 panchayat secretary grade-5 posts, 14,944 mahila police posts, 11,158 welfare and education secretary posts, 3,307 ward administrative secretary posts in the morning.

Examination was conducted in the evening for to fill the panchayat secretary grade-6 digital assistants posts. On the first day, 14,30,958 candidates attended the examination held in the morning and evening.

The state government made elaborate arrangements for the examinations, which will be continuetill September 8. On Sunday morning, 11,58,538 candidates attended the examination as against the 12,53,974 applied i.e. 92.50 per cent. The examinations were conducted in 4478 examination centres in 13 districts of the state.

In the evening, 2,72,420 candidates attended out of total 2,95,980 who applied the percentage of 92.04 for the panchayat secretary grade-6 digital assistant posts. The state government has drafted thousands of staff and officials for the successful conduct of examination, which was held peacefully without any major untoward. District collectors, joint collectors, municipal commissioners and other officials supervised the arrangements and visited the examination centres.

The APSRTC operated special services for the convenience of candidates attending the examination.In Krishna district, joint collector K Madhavi Latha and Vijayawada municipal commissioner Prasanna Venkatesh visited the examination centres and supervised the arrangements.

There will be no exam on September 2 on account of Vinayaka Chaviti. On September 3 morning, the examination will be held for the posts of VROs and survey assistants and in the afternoon, the exam will be for the posts of ANM/ward health assistant. The government is conducting 14 types of written tests to the fill posts in the village and ward secretariats.
