English medium in govt schools is limited up to sixth grade: CM Jagan Reddy
The Andhra Pradesh state government has dropped back on the implementation of English medium in schools. The Chief Minister has instructed that the English medium be applied only for the classes one to sixth. The Chief Minister issued the orders during a review held at the camp office in Tadepalli. At present, the government seems to have taken this decision as it is not fully equipped to teach English in public schools.
CM, who met with the senior officials on the implementation of English medium in schools, has made it clear that every public school should have an English language laboratory. The CM has decided to set up laboratories as part of the 'Nadu-Nedu' program starting from the 14th of November.
As part of the first phase, the govt has decided to implement the English medium for 1 to 6 grades. The officials of the Ministry of Education have been ordered to make arrangements for this. He also urged the schools to follow the CBSE and ICSE policies.
