Eluru: Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has appreciated the efforts of West Godavari District Collector R Muthyala Raju in preparing house sites for distribution in accordance with the schedule.

The Chief Minister convened a videoconference with the district Collectors from the Secretariat on Tuesday. He patted the District Collector for speedy works relating to distribution of house sites.

Speaking on the occasion, the Collector, Muthyala Raju, informed the Chief Minister that all arrangements are being made for distribution of 2.7 lakh house site pattas in the district on Ugadi. Out of a total of 2,303 layouts, marking of plots was completed in 1,150 layouts. A special officer was appointed for each layout and progress of work was being reviewed on daily basis. Plot development work would be completed by March 10, the District Collector said.

Earlier, the Chief Minister, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, said that it is right time to take precautionary measures for Coronavirus. Isolation wards should be set up in district hospitals and training should be imparted to medical staff for prevention of the deadly virus. An extensive programme should be taken up for awareness on virus among people. They should be informed about the symptoms of the virus, procedure to contain it and preventive measures, he added.

Pamphlets on the virus should be displayed at village secretariats. Sufficient quantity of body and mouth masks should be keep ready, he instructed.

The Chief Minister also referred to pension distribution at doorstep of the beneficiaries and instructed the officials to take up the task in such a manner that the pension distribution should be completed within two hours on the first of next month.

Joint Collector K Venkataramana Reddy, Joint Collector-2 N Tej Bharat, Additional Superintendent of Police Karimulla Sharif, DRO Srinivasa Murthy and other officials participated in the videoconference.
