Early intervention in diabetic foot ulcers discussed in Tirupati

Tirupati: The importance of early intervention in diabetic foot ulcers in order to prevent amputations and increase the quality of life of diabetic patients were discussed at a continuous medical education (CME) programme held in the Department of Surgery in Ruia Hospital on Wednesday.

Special lectures were given on recent advances in the surgery for epilepsy and vascular surgery by Dr Suman B Pallegar and Dr Rajesh Srinivas under the guidance of Dr Devi Shetty of Narayana Hrudayalaya Hospital.

The programme was presided by SV Medical College Principal Dr C Jaya Bhaskar and organised by Head of Surgery department Dr GV Prakash. It was attended by Ruia Hospital Superintendent Dr V Bhavani, Dr NV Ramanaiah, Dr Manohar, Dr Sobha Rani, Dr Nagamueaiah and others. Post graduate students and other faculty members were also participated.
