Drusyam, Nrityam captivate audience

Vijayawada: Drusya Vedika, an audience club, organised a cultural event titled "Drusyam – Nrityam" at Veledandla Hanumantharaya Grandhalayam Hall here on Sunday evening. YS Krishneswara Rao portrayed the story telling of renowned yesteryears writer Sripada Subrahmanya Sastry's "Margadarsi" story.

The next part of the programme "Nrityam" was performed by Jahnavi, Radha Sivani and Risha Ragi. Jahnavi Yedlapati and Risha Ragi, the disciples of Sridevi, Sai Nritya Academy, Dallas, USA, showcased 'Sivapadam', 'Nadamantha', 'Charishnu Brindavani' and 'Adigo Alladigo' in Kuchipudi style and impressed the audience with their grip on dance.

Radha Sivani from Khammam presented both 'Sri Vighnarajam Bhaje' in Bharatanatyam style and Ramadas Keerthana 'Takkuvemi manaku' in Kuchipudi style. She mesmerised the audience with excellent foot work and expressions.

The theatre artiste, writer and director YS Krishneswara Rao presented an innovative style in Telugu theatre namely 'Story telling', which is popular in North Indian and now this was portrayed by eminent actor YS Krishneswara Rao. He had chosen the story 'Margadarsi' of Sripada Subrahmanya Sastry.

Even though the story is of 80 years old, it has discussed the self-confidence, personality development and goal setting which are popular nowadays. Krishneswara Rao owned the character and presented to the audience.

With the modulation and rendering of the dialogue, Krishneswara Rao captured the auditorium and received appreciation from connoisseurs present. B Udaya Bhaskar supported technically.

The programme was compared by Lekhya Bharani and organised by Padmasri Hemanth. Dr D Kailasarao, D Prakash, P Suryanarayana Murthy and PV Bhaskara Sarma appreciated the artistes.
