DRC: Legislators express dissatisfaction over the functioning of officials
Nellore: As there is no opposition in the district, senior legislators of the ruling party have played a similar role during the District Review Committee (DRC) meet held here on Thursday expressing their anger over the officials on their lapses.
Venkatagiri MLA Anam Ramnarayana Reddy expressed dissatisfaction for not providing proper information to the people's representatives. Addressing DRC meet at Zilla Parishad Conference hall, he said that he had requested the officials to give some detailed information on an issue and the officials have given insufficient information.
Sarvepalli MLA Kakani Govardhan Reddy said that the farmers have been facing troubles with the mindset of the officials who have been failing to provide rights on the lands being cultivated for many decades. He regretted that the farmers have not been getting benefits from government schemes as the farmers do not possess rights over the lands.
Govardhan Reddy said though they had appealed to the officials to give away rights on the lands for availing benefits, there was no response from them.
District In-charge Minister B Srinivasa Reddy assured that they would try to resolve the issues. Minister Srinivasa Reddy said that verification for providing social security pensions is on progress. Minister P.Anil Kumar Yadav said that volunteers have been conducting a survey in the district to identify the eligible persons for pensions.
District Collector MV Seshagiri Babu said they are anticipating production of 13 lakh metric tonnes of paddy across the district during this season.
Sullurpet legislator K Sanjeevaiah, Gudur MLA V Varaprasad, Kavali legislator R Prathap Kumar Reddy, Nellore Rural MLA K Sridhar Reddy, MLC V Narayana Reddy, DCCB Chairman A Vijaya Kumar Reddy, Joint Collector V Vinod Kumar and others were present.
