District Collector Vivek Yadav for strict implementation of night curfew
Guntur: The district administration has taken steps to implement night curfew from 11 pm to 5 am from Tuesday (January 18) to January 31 with the following exemptions.
District Collector Vivek Yadav said that hospitals, diagnostic labs, pharmacies, petrol pumps, print and electronic media representatives, power and general distribution staff, water supply staff and sanitation workforce, and judicial officials of High Court and other courts, all medical personnel including doctors, nurses, pregnant women and patients for receiving treatment, all inter-state, intra-State movement of goods are exempted from the night curfew.
He further said that wearing masks at public places is made compulsory, which should cover mouth and nose all the time. In public transport, both staff and passengers must wear masks. He warned that a penalty of Rs 10,000 to Rs 25,000 will be levied for shops and establishments, if they allow any person into its premises without mask. The Collector directed Guntur rural SP Vishal Gunni and Guntur urban SP K Arif Hafeez to strictly implement the orders.
758 new Covid-19 cases reported
As many as 758 new Covid-19 cases were reported in Guntur district during the last 24 hours. According to official sources, 49 new cases were registered in Tadepalli, 397 new cases in Guntur Municipal Corporation limits, 64 cases in Mangalagiri, 52 cases in Chilakaluripet, 52 cases in Narasaraopet and 16 cases in Tenali. The remaining cases were reported from other mandals in the district. Though the district administration is creating awareness, still people are moving without masks on the roads and not maintaining social distance at the municipal markets and rytu bazaars in Guntur city.
