Dial 100, 112 and 181 for immediate help: SP M Ravindranath Babu

Vijayawada: Krishna district police announced phone numbers to help the distressed women and girls. Superintendent of Police M Ravindranath Babu, in a press release on Sunday, said that women can call phone numbers 100, 112 or 181 for emergency help and the police teams would rush within five minutes to the spot. He said mobile phone numbers were allocated for the special purpose.

Announcing the Cyber Mithra number 91212 11100 and police whatsapp number 9182 990 135, the SP said the police teams were work round-the-clock and added the police were always in the service of people and appealed to women to avail facility in case of emergency.

He announced phone numbers of sub-divisional offices: Machilipatnam sub-division office phone number 94910 68902, Gudivada 94906 17670, Avanigadda sub-division office 94910 63904, Nuzvid 94906 17679 and Nandigama area 94906 17971.

Vijayawada East Zone ACP K Surendranath Reddy speaking to media at Gannavaram police station on Sunday announced women and girls can take emergency help by dialing to 100, 112 numbers. He spoke to media in the wake of brutal murder of veterinary doctor Priyanka Reddy in Hyderabad.

Surendranath Reddy said the police will respond and reach to victim within five minutes after receiving phone calls. He said entire nation was shocked and felt sad with the brutal rape and murder of Priyanka. He said special arrangements have been made at the police control room in Vijayawada to render assistance to women and girls for immediate assistance. Gannavaram Circle inspector K Srinivasa Rao was also present.
