Collector stresses on the need to uplift tribes
Vizianagaram: Adivasi Dinotsav was celebrated on a grand note at Parvathipuram ITDA of Vizianagaram district on Friday. District Collector Dr M Harijawaharlal participated in the programme and said that government is implementing several welfare schemes for the benefit of tribal people. Tribes have their own culture and are following their specified traditions. They are hard workers and honest.
Despite facing hardships, they have been striving in protecting the nature and believe in it. So, we should work more to enhance their life standards," he said. Dr G Vinod Kumar, Project Officer of ITDA explained how the ITDA has been serving in various ways.
How the health and education services are increased in tribal areas and the steps taken to uplift the life standards of tribes. MLA of Parvathipuram A Jogarao, Sub collector T Chetan and others participated in the programme. Later, they have distributed cheques to self-help groups. Cultural programmes were organised which entertained the people.
