CM Jagan wants a cut down in the number of bar shops in the state

In yet another move Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has decided to reduce numbers of bars in Andhra Pradesh in a review meeting held in the revenue department. The govt has directed the Excise department to this extent. Also, the govt ensured that the bar shops are to remain open from 11 am to 10 pm.

"He ordered to prepare a set of guidelines for the same and also asked to draft a procedure to collect the pending taxes," an official release said.

The official told the Jagan reddy that commercial taxes collected till October had been raised by 0.14 per cent compared to the same period in the last year. Going by the numbers, the tax collected in the previous year was 24947 crore and while that of the present year closed at 24,982 crores.

However, it is reported that there is 8.91 per cent decline in the revenue with Rs 4,043.72 crore income in the same period last year, and this year the revenue was Rs 3,683.25 crore. And there is the growth of 3.26 per cent in Stamps and Registrations Department with 2,895.96 crores till October this year and Rs 2,804.67 crore revenue till October in the last year.
