Close shave for passengers as RTC bus rams into tree
Ongole: As many as 35 passengers travelling in an APSRTC bus escaped unhurt when the bus rammed into a tree in Prakasam district on Thursday. The bus was on its way from Kanigiri to Ongole when the incident took place at Erragudipadu village of Chimakurthy mandal.
It all happened when driver Ramarao fell almost unconscious due to the low blood pressure. He hit the tree on his side to save the passengers. Ramarao is said to be on garage duty for a while due to his health condition and said to be forcefully sent on driver duty on Thursday by the depot manager, as there was no sufficient staff.
The locals and Chimakurthy police shifted the passengers suffering minor injuries to the hospital in the 108 ambulance and auto rikshaws for dressing and treatment.
