Chittoor: Collector N B Gupta directed police officials to intensify Strict vigilance mooted at State borders

Chittoor: District Collector N B Gupta directed the police officials to intensify vigilance at state border check posts at Gandrajupalli, Naraharipet and Cheekatibilu to prevent entry of vehicles and persons from Tamil Nadu and Karnataka into AP.

The instructions were given to prevent the spread of dreaded Covid-19 in the district.

As the number of corona cases have been increased in the district, the Collector held a review meeting at the Collectorate with police and other officials on Sunday.

Gupta said that 111 corona positives cases have been reported in the district in which 73 cases were discharged and presently there are 38 active cases.

He stated that special teams will be deployed to combat the Covid-19 with Revenue , Police and Health officials. Samples will be tested at various Covid-19 hospitals situated at Tirupati, Chittoor, Madanapalli, Srikalahasti, Nagari and Palamaner.

Superintendent of Police S Senthil Kumar said that out of 250 samples taken from Koyembedu Vegetable Market contacts 26 were identified as corona positives in the district.

Trainee Collector Prudhvitej, Madanapalli Sub Collector Keerthi Chekuri, Joint Collector 2 V R Chandra Mouli, DMHO Dr. Penchalaiah and Palamaner DSP Arifullah were present.
