Children urged to work hard, emulate PV Sindhu

Ongole: If anyone could work hard with commitment for a goal, they could easily achieve it, said the chairman of Lord Krishna Badminton Academy, Sidda Sudheer Kumar. He and Karanam Venkatesh participated as the chief guests to the Andhra Pradesh state sub-junior (under 13) ranking badminton tournament valedictory program on Sunday.

They viewed the doubles matches held on Sunday and mesmerized by the pace and timing of the children in exchange of shots and rallies. Sudheer said that the children require participation in sports along with good performance in education. He said that sports help them have strong mind and body that helps them face all situations.

He said that the sportiveness, game plan, and fighting spirit helps the children have a good foundation in the sports and the encouragement from parents and tough training helps them scale greater heights in the game. He advised the runners up in the tourney to not disappoint them but plan to practice more, play hard and win in the next tournament.

Venkatesh advised the children to take inspiration from PV Sindhu and said that hard work and continuous practice helps them get success. He appreciated the academy for identifying rural talent and training them without looking for profits.

He thanked the chairman Sudheer and founder president Addanki Murali Krishna for setting up a training facility with international standards in Ongole. The chief coach P U Bhaskar Babu said that all the matches held for the last three days were interesting and opined that the academy with the world-class facilities is a pride to Ongole.

He encouraged the players to correct their moves and perform better in the next tournament. The organisers announced that Danny won the boys singles title while Mahendra wins runners up position and D Deepika won the girls singles title while Chetana Chitra won the runners up position.

They said that Viswa Teja and Bhargav Ram won the boys doubles while V Praveen and M Seshu stood in the runners up position and Chetana Chitra and Divitha won the girls doubles while RR Padmini and G Pujitha won the runners up position.

The judges selected Akhil Bobba, VSM Reddy, Hasana Sri and Vinod as best players in the tournament. Sudheer and his wife Sruthi, Venkatesh and his wife Geetha, Murali Krishna and his wife Padmapriya, Bhaskar Babu presented the trophies and prize money to the winners and runners up and thanked the referee T Krishna Prasad and deputy referee L Prakash.
