Cheruva helps women a lot: ACP

Vijayawada: Through Cheruva programme, the police will support women, said women police station ACP Srilakshmi.She participated as chief guest at an awareness programme organised by the KBN College's women empowerment cell on Cheruva.

Addressing the students on Friday, the ACP said that through Cheruva programme, they would control law and order problem besides solving problems faced by the women. She said to cut down cyber crimes, new technology was being adopted by the department. She further said that Shakti teams are deployed to protect and support the women in the city.

Shakti teams would protect college going ladies from eve-teasing and other problems. She appealed to the people to be part of Cheruva to control criminals. Later, she explained about POCSO Law, raging, eve-teasing, ill-effects of child marriages and child labour.
