Applications invited from auto drivers for 10K financial aid
Amaravati: The applications for financial assistance of Rs 10,000 per annum to the self-owned auto, taxi and maxi cab drivers to meet the expenses towards insurance, fitness certificates and repairs will be accepted from September 14, 2019, for the financial year of 2019-2020.
The Minister for Transport Perni Nani said that the disbursement of the amount to the beneficiaries will be completed by October 4.The Minister addressed a press conference held at Secretariat on Thursday and informed that the last date for receipt of applications will be September 25 and verification of applications will be finalised by September 30.
He added that the respective district collectors will release the sanction orders for the eligible beneficiaries by October 1. It is estimated that at least 4,00,000 drivers will get benefited in this scheme. The minister revealed that there are about 6,00,000 vehicles identified as eligible under the scheme.
Out of these, about 4 lakh drivers own the vehicles. He informed that there will be no restriction on the number of beneficiaries in this scheme. The government will provide financial assistance to all eligible applicants, whoever will meet the criteria.
The procedure for implementation of the scheme was finalised and the applications will be made available in the website aptrasnport.org on September 14. The applications will also be available in the DTC, RTO, Unit office, MVI office, Eseva, Mee Seva and CSC centres across the state. The applicants could directly apply on the website or could consult the respective offices or they could take the help of Village and Ward Volunteers.
The applicants should provide Aadhar, BPL or White Ration Card, registration certificate of the vehicle, driving licence, bank account passbook first page with account details and caste certificate in case of SC, ST, BC or Minority community.
All the owner-cum-drivers of auto, taxi, maxi cabs who have registered their vehicles on or before September 25, 2019, are eligible for the scheme to file the applications. All these owners should have a valid driving licence.
At the same time, the minister clarified that if the vehicle is on the name of the spouse and the driving licence is on wife or husband, in this case also they are eligible to get the benefits. Nani suggested such families also to apply for the benefit. In this scheme, the family is defined as husband, wife and minor children.
After disbursement of the amount in the beneficiary bank account, the Village and Ward volunteers will hand over the receipt of the sanction along with the message of Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, he added.
