AP govt to disburse financial aid of Rs. 5000 to Priests, Pastors and Imams tomorrow

Andhra Pradesh: With the coronavirus taking the toll of mankind throughout the world, people are confined to homes amid lockdown without income. The Andhra Pradesh government has decided to help priests, pastors, imams who are facing financial difficulties due to the closure of religious programs in temples, churches and mosques due to the lockdown.

It is estimated that there are more than 77,000 people in the state together. All of them would be benefitted with Rs. 5000 directly into their accounts. About 34,000 priests, 30 thousand pastors and 14 thousand imam and mouzams will be assisted by the government. The government has spent nearly Rs. 38 crore cash assistance.

CM YS Jagan will be depositing cash directly in their accounts at the Tadepalli camp office tomorrow through online. Meanwhile, there are no signs of slowing down the number of coronavirus cases in the state. In the latest media health bulletin released, the State has detected 44 fresh cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, taking the COVID-19 tally to 2,671.

Apart from the home cases, 45 are foreign returnees with 41 from Kuwait 3 from quasar and 1 from Saudi Arabia who came back recently under the Vande Bharat Mission.
