AP governor Abdul Nazeer unfurls national flag in Vijayawada
The 75th Republic Day of India was celebrated in a grand manner in Andhra Pradesh. The celebrations took place at the Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium in Vijayawada. Governor Nazir unveiled the national flag, followed by receiving police salute. Chief Minister Jagan's couple, ministers, and officials also participated in the event.
AP Governor Abdul Nazeer highlighted the revolutionary changes brought by the government in the education sector during his Republic Day address. The government has spent 17,805 crores to improve the infrastructure in schools. Additionally, the government is efficiently providing civil services through 15,000 village and ward secretariats, offering 540 civic services at people's homes.
He said that the state government has also established 10,132 village health clinics to provide medical services to the people in rural areas. In terms of governance, the government has introduced reforms such as the formation of new districts, revenue divisions, and police divisions, bringing governance closer to the people. "The government is also implementing various schemes like Jagananna Amma Odi, Jagananna Vidya Deevena, and Jagannanna Videshi Vidya Deevena to enhance education and provide support to students. Along with these achievements, the government has also created 213,000 permanent government jobs since taking office," Governor said.
In addition to the main event at the stadium, other government officials also participated in flag-hoisting ceremonies. AP Speaker Tammineni Sitaram unveiled the flag in the assembly premises, Council Chairman Moshen Raju unveiled it in the Legislative Council, and State Government Chief Secretary Jawahar Reddy did the honors at the AP Secretariat.
CM Jagan will attend a High Tea program to be hosted by the Governor at Raj Bhavan. CM Jagan and Prime Minister Narendra Modi both wished the people of their respective states and the country a happy Republic Day.
