Andhra Pradesh Stand After Telangana In Enrolment of Students in Higher Education

Andhra Pradesh ranks 10 in the country in the enrolment of students for higher education. The Ranking published by All India Survey on Higher Education department for the academic year 2018-19.

As the Andhra Pradesh stands at the tenth position, the neighbouring state of Telangana ranks 9th. Going by the statistics, the gross enrolment ratio GER remains at 32.4 per cent, which is 1.5 per cent excess compared to the 2017-18 financial year.

Due to the number of educational institutions in Andhra Pradesh are quite adequate, the GER of the state is way ahead of the national average of 26.3 per cent. Andhra Pradesh stands the fifth position with 2678 colleges.

It also stands fifth in enrolment of teacher training institutions with 31078 students while nursing colleges stand fourth place with 21913 students.

The male enrolment ratio is 7 per cent more than the females.

Andhra Pradesh recorded the highest percentage of teachers from Scheduled caste category.

Most numbers of international students pursue in Andhra Pradesh compared to other states.
