A case has been registered against former MP and TDP senior leader JC Diwakar Reddy for obstructing police duties and abusing the policemen. It is learnt that a stone-throwing incident took place between TDP and YSRCP leaders on December 24 in Tadipatri town. Police have registered cases under Section 144 against MLA Peddareddy and his two sons, former MLA JC Prabhakar Reddy and his son in connection with the incident.

Prabhakar Reddy and Diwakar Reddy on Monday called for Deeksha at the Tahsildar's office against registering SC and ST atrocity cases even if they have not lodged any complaint against Peddareddy and his sons. Police had earlier placed Prabhakar Reddy under house arrest at his residence and Diwakar Reddy at a farmhouse in Jutur village in Peddappur Mandal to avoid untoward incidents. The former MP was angry at the police who came to his house at this time and abused them. An altercation took place between the police and Diwakar Reddy.

DSP Chaitanya said that a case has been registered against Diwakar Reddy under Sections 353 and 506 for allegedly insulting the police with obscene language.
