Anantapur: Special Advisor to the government on national and inter-state media affairs Devulapalli Amar has stressed on using technology for making genuine and accurate news available to the people. .

Participating in the national seminar on ' Technology application in Journalism and its social importance' at the JNTUA auditorium jointly organised by AP Union of Working Journalists Union (APUWJ) and the JNTUA here on Friday, Amar stated that in a changing world technology should be used effectively for the welfare of people and in protecting the rights of people. Indian Journalists Union president K Srinivasa Reddy said that every media person should be well versed in technology to use it for good of the society.

JNTUA Vice-Chancellor S Srinivas Kumar said that technology is now to the advantage of the journalists in placing any incident in any part of the world in minutes.

APUWJU district president and convenor of the seminar T Lakshminarayana also spoke.

A large number of journalists from different mediums and journalism students participated in the one-day seminar.
