Amaravati JAC takes out huge rally in support of capital
Vijayawada: A huge rally was taken on the BRTS Road here on Monday demanding withdrawal of the decision to establish three capitals. A large number of women too took part in the rally.
The participants raised slogans against the State government and demanded that Amaravati remain as capital city.
The JAC leaders, the politicians and intellectuals took part in the rally which started from Padavala Revu at Gunadala and passed through the BRTS Road via Madhuranagar, Food junction and reach Misala Rajeswara Rao bridge.
Former MLA Vangaviti Radhakrishna along with former Ministers Devineni Umamaheswara Rao, former MLA Bode Prasad, Congress leader Sunkara Padmasri, former ZP Chairman Gadde Anuradha led the rally.
Radha, while addressing the rally, said the whole State was against the decision of three capitals and the it is not concerned to one region only. It is concerned with all five-crore people in the State.
People from Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and even non-resident Indians have lent their support to the agitation for Amaravati, he pointed out. He said that the government had taken hasty decision against the interest of the people.
JAC leaders Gadde Tirupatirao, Kiran Kumar, K Rajendra, Y Ramana Rao, Dr Kartik, Dr Sridevi and others were present.
