Amaravati: House site pattas to be distributed on April 14
Amaravati: The government's prestigious programme of distributing house site pattas for 26.6 lakh poor people in the state has been postponed to April 14 to coincide with Ambedkar Jayanti.
With the coronavirus outbreak in the country, house site pattas distribution scheduled for Ugadi on March 25, has been postponed to April 14. The decision was made at a review meeting held here on Friday.
Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy sought details of the ongoing works of house sites. He told the officials to ensure that there should be a social distance while showing sites to the beneficiaries.
About 26.6 lakh beneficiaries will get house site pattas with clear title with registration. While such a prestigious project is taken up by the government to benefit the poor, a few people are trying to politicise the event and are creating hurdles to the poor by filing cases in the court. The Chief Minister instructed the officials that the government arguments should be strong.
Jagan directed the officials to give a detailed explanation about the ongoing works of this programme. The lottery system should be completed to allot the plots to beneficiaries and their photo should be captured at the site and geo-tagged.
The Chief Minister has been keen on providing the house site to eligible poor and said that there was good progress in the work compared to the last meeting.
This prestigious programme is going to set a new record. The state government will be constructing over 30 lakh houses by 2024. Moreover, the land will be registered in the name of the woman of that house.
