87 pc polling in TTD Employees Co-op Bank body election

Tirupati: The election for the body of TTD Employees Co-operative Bank was held on Thursday in which 87 per cent votes were polled. The election was conducted for electing to the post of 7 directors of the employees' bank which is having 6,900 members.

In all 24 candidates contested for the 7 posts. The counting of the votes was taken up after the polling was over at 3 pm and the results are expected around 11 pm in the night.

The election was delayed for more than two years and was held only after the employees resorted to protests pressing for the election to the coop bank.

The election generated lot of interests among the employees who have turned up enthusiastically to cast their votes at the polling station set up in SGS High School, Tirupati and also at SV High School, Tirumala.
