3.60 lakh people crossed 60years has to conducted Eye Screening - Deputy CM

Kadapa: While asserting the government's commitment to designing state as Arogyandrapradesh, Deputy chief minister Amzadh Basha it was proposed to perform eye screening for 3.60lakh people who crossed 60 years age group in the district.

Speaking after inaugurating 3rd phase of Dr YSR Kanti Velugu along with Kamalapuram MLA P. Ravindranath Reddy in Primary Health Center(PHC) at Valluru on Tuesday the minister said that every day about 150 people would be conducted eye screening to complete the schedule in a time-bound manner.

He said that after completion of tests the government will perform surgeries to the diseased in super speciality hospitals at free of cost, and also supply spectacles to whom not required surgeries.

The minister recalled that in 1and 2nd phase of Dr YSR Kanti Velugu as many as 32,000 students were noticed suffering from eye-related problems against 4.50 performed eye screening in the district.

Among them, 3,000 were recommended undergoing surgery and 12,000 were required spectacles.

The minister said that chief minister YSJagan Mohan Reddy was responsible for increasing the list of diseases to 2,250 against 1050 recommended in the past in YSR Arogy Sree.

Kamalapuram MLA p. Ravindranath Reddy said that AP is the first state entire country conducting Eye screening students and old-age people. The MLA urged the people to utilize the opportunity by attending screening camps.

Kanti Velugu nodal officer Dr. Rami Reddy, Mandal special officer Gopal, DIO Malleswari, MPDO SK Jubedha Begam and others were present.
