17 TTD employees test positive for coronavirus
Authorities have been instructed to ensure the best treatment for them, says TTD chairman Y V Subba Reddy
Tirupati: Now it is official. As many as 17 TTD employees have tested positive and are availing treatment while their family members and contacts have been quarantined.
Putting to rest the unconfirmed reports, TTD chairman YV Subba Reddy on Saturday disclosed that 17 employees were infected with Covid-19.
Speaking to the media after the TTD Trust Board meeting held at Tirumala, Reddy said that all of them got affected by Covid not at Tirumala but in the respective places they hail from.
Affirming that the TTD management will stand with the employees in this difficult times, Reddy said, "We will not compromise on spending money over the health and safety and security of our employees and have already instructed the authorities to provide them best treatment."
Subba Reddy further said, "Instead of a stay for a week for employees at Tirumala, we are contemplating two week stay to ensure their health safety.
Every employee will be tested for corona and then only they will be allowed to report for duty."
Local legislators B Karunakar Reddy, Dr C Bhaskar Reddy along with Additional EO AV Dharma Reddy will instill confidence among the employees by holding meetings with their associations, he averred.
